16 Month Girl, Rash On Her Private Parts?
My 16 month old for the past few days has had a rash on her vaginal area. It is a red rash with some little bumps on her labia majora or the outer lips. She has had diaper rash once or twice before but it was always on her butt. It looks like diaper rash though… can they get diaper rash in that area? Could it be something else that I should be aware of?
It doesn’t seem to really bother her… though she has been touching that area a bit but she always does when she doesn’t have a diaper on. I’ve put desitin on it before i put a diaper on, but mostly have left her diaper free.
What else could this be? I just think its odd because she never got diaper rash there before.

It could very well be a diaper rash or a yeast infection. My advise is to take her to see her doc. leaving her diaper free is a good idea because it allows the area to breath. My son had a yeast infection when he was about 9 months old. It likes warm moist areas. good luck hope all gets better. =]
Hi
I dont think its anything to worry about, and yes they can get nappy rashes on that area if i was you i would lay off the baby wipes for a few days, and use warm water and cotton wool, dry it and use the cream that you are doing.
And whenever possible just let her run around without her Diaper for a few Min’s each day to let air get to her.
Good luck
My daughter had the same kind of rash and it turned out to be a yeast infection. The doctor told me to use lotrimin and triple paste. I just mixed the two in the palm of my hand and applied it every diaper change, change her often. If you still aren’t sure and don’t want to self diagnose, take her to the doctor. Btw, if you haven’t used triple paste its awesome, clears up diaper rash with one-two uses. I got it at babies r us, its kinda pricy though. Lotrimin you can get at the drug store.
I read your question “Is your baby a wierdo too”. I know that with my daughter, toilet paper causes her irritation. I don’t know if it is the paper itself or if it is her using it too aggressively. I’d try wiping her with wet wipes or the wipes made to go in the toilet and see if that makes a difference.
She might have a yeast infection she can get it form taking bubble baths just talk to the doctor and if it is they prescribe a cream that you can put on
Sudocreme! My little girl got that and sudocreme acts as a barrier to wetness. She’ll be getting it because of the dampness that’s all. Hope it works for your little girl! x
