Any Advice On How To Wean A Baby From The Breast As Pain-free As Possible?

my daughter is 11 mos old and has never drinken formula. i want to breastfeed at least until 1 year old. i pump at work and also give her breastmilk from me in the morning, before bed, and at least once at night…i want to rid myself of the night session.

What worked for me was just gradually giving them more and more formula and less and less breast milk. Eventually you will dry up and they won’t want to nurse anymore. At night try automatically offering a bottle or even a sippy cup, or distract her with something completely different like a toy. Babies at that age aren’t nursing because they are hungry in the middle of the night, as long as they are getting enough before bed. It’s probably more for the attention. Also trying water won’t hurt either, that’s what I was using by that age at night. Make sure her belly is full from some solid foods too.
Someone on this website told me to buy this sippy cup from walmart called a nuby.Hands down best thing.It feels like a breast but has a sippy opening.I got the cup 2 weeks ago and I can defiantly say its worked for me.My son hasn’t breastfeed in 4 days.It takes some patience but it finally came around.I started offering cows milk when the breast milk ran out .I am almost dried up.They can have cows milk at a year anyways.

let her get used to it before you remove any breast feeding.
