Can I Change My Baby’s Formula?

I received a free sample of formula in the mail. Its two big containers of it and its the same brand I use just a different type. Would it be alright for me to use it so it does not go to waste or is it not a good idea to switch it like that?

I would say go for it. We use enfamil but when we run low on money we use Parents Choice Organic of course we don’t mix it together. And my baby does fine. As long as its closed and not expired I say it’ll be fine to use it. I got 2 cans of enfamil in the mail from enfamil and I used them and didn’t have any problems with them. Why would it be gross?
I see nothing wrong with it, especially if your baby’s never had trouble with a sensitive stomach before. Besides, if it doesn’t agree with them for whatever reason, you can always switch back. Formula’s expensive! I’d hate to waste it.
Are you going to switch to this new kind for good? Changing your formula can be really tough on your baby. If it is just to use 2 cans of formula I wouldn’t suggest it. If you are changing for good, start off slow – like replace one scoop of the old with the new for a day or two, then go up until after a week or so it is all the new formula – and if you still have doubts, it’s always best to consult your Dr.
I wouldn’t!!! I thought my daughter was having tummy troubles, so I switched her to the Enfamil Gentle Ease and she eneded up getting the WORST diarrhea!! She was up crying cause it made her belly hurt so bad!! If you can keep from it, DON’T USE IT!!! Unless you wanna deal with an upset baby for a few days!!! You never want to stop what they are eating one day and start them on something totally different the next. My daughter is almost 11 months and her Dr. said to start introducing her to Whole Milk an ounce at a time for 3-5 days depending on how she does with it. She’s up to 2 ounces now and doing WONDERFULLY!!! I’m gonna bump her up to 3oz tomorrow!
Just my opinion, of course!!!
if its the same brand then its fine… like i sometimes use similac with omega and other times i don’t. just don’t be mixing with the iron fortified or lactose free types.
As long as your baby doesn’t have tummy troubles like reflux or something it should be fine.
I wouldn’t best sticking with what you are using. I wouldn’t give my baby anything i got in the mail either. Just throw it out. ewwwwwwwww
ask your doctor it is different with each child as the needs of one will not meet the needs of others
I would use it! I have used samples with my baby and she has never had any trouble! No fussing or anything like that ALL BABYS ARE DIFFERENT, you will just have to try it and see, no one can tell you how you’re baby will respond to any changes but your baby! So I say go for it and if she has problems you know not to do it again!!
