I wouldn’t try it. I have a bunch of Enfamil at my house the my aunt (with good intentions) gave me but I use Similac advance with iron. I’ve never had problems with it and I would not recommend giving both. If you plan on switching him to the Enfamil, talk to your doctor about how to go about that but if you just wanna make use of two free cans then dont bother and just pass them along to someone else who might use that formula.
My son’s pediatrician told me to go ahead and do it. My son was on Good Start and usually still is. The doctor said (without my asking) that if I’m getting more free samples and coupons for other stuff than to use it. I did switch for a bit, but ended up like the Good Start best.
I wouldn’t ever advise to do that. You need to keep him used to one trustworthy brand. Switching or simultaneously sharing 2 formulas should never be done without checking with your pediatrician. I made my son very sick and colicky one time when I used both Prosobee Lipil and then Similac with soy. Please don’t!
The brands are okay to switch as long as it is the same type of formula. For example Milk Based and Milk Based. If your baby is on milk based do not give him soy based or vice versa.
I THINK THOSE 2 ARE ABOUT THE SAME I KNOW THE WIC OFFICE HERE CHANGED AND GAVE MY FRIEND ENFAMIL AFTER HER LIL GUY HAD BEEN ON SIMILA FOR A MONTH OR SO I KNOW ONE HAD A BLUE LID AND THE OTHER WAS GOLD THEY SEEMED TO HAVE THE SAME INGREDIENTS I AM BREASTFEEDING BUT HER BABY SEEMS TO BE FINE AND IS GROWING LIKE A WEED!
Not recommended, only b/c the little one is used to the similac, and if you start giving him the other one there may be a reaction of some sort, his tummy may not handle it well.
It is okay but It depends on your babys tummy!! For example if your baby has been on Similac and you give him the Emfamil it might upset his stomach which= THROW UP!! but you can try!!
I was told that the only difference is the brand name. There is a small difference in taste also. My babies pediatrician compared it to Pepsi and coke (different brand name, and slight difference in taste.) I had this issue come up a few weeks. I usually give my baby infimil lipil. I gave him similac advance. He got really fussy so I switched him back that night. Give it a try. You should be able to tell if your baby prefers similac within a few feedings.
I don’t see why not… unless your doctor has the baby on similac for health reasons. Formula is pretty much all the same look at ingredients on the cans and compare amounts in the vitamins and minerals section.
Make sure to check the expiration dates first
