Can You Recommend A Really Large Indoor Play Yard Or Gate Product For A Crawling Baby?
Our baby started crawling so we want to put him in a play area inside the house (living room) so he can’t get into stuff. Something like this, http://store.babycenter.com/product/safety+-+baby+care/safety/gates/superyard+xt.do?asc=false, but much bigger (so he has plenty of room to roam, play, and explore), and hopefully nicer-looking. I’d prefer something with mesh instead of bars. Also something free-standing like the one in the picture above; nothing that requires construction or drilling holes into a wall, please. Can someone please recommend a product? A make and model name and number would be great, a link would be even better. Thanks!

I had the super yard, it works to an extent, but your child will soom be hanging on to the edge and whining unless you are sitting in there with him. I suggest that you are better off biting the bullet and gating off the entrances to the entire living room or play area and baby proofing it now… Good luck!
I considered the same thing, but realized that it was too small and wouldn’t last very long.
We bought a couple of really good gates that we mounted in our hallway to keep the girls away from the stairs and babyproofed what we could.
Keep in mind that if your child doesn’t learn “don’t touch” at home, they will be into everything at someone else’s house when you visit them.
We don’t have locks on our drawers or cupboards, we do have those little plastic plugs for the outlets and the girls just learned not to touch the wine rack, china cabinet, tv, etc.
And now when we go to visit at other people’s homes, we don’t have to worry about them getting into trouble.
