How Does Soap Free Bady Wash Get You Clean?

i have a body wash that says dermatologist tested soap free formula. so (1) how does soap work? and (2) how does soap free body wash get you clean?

Soap is defined as a cleansing agent made from a mixture of the sodium salts of various fatty acids of natural oils and fats.
Soap free body washes can use detergents which are a cleansing substance that acts similarly to soap but is made from chemical compounds rather than fats and lye.
Soap and detergents work the same way. They have one part that bonds with oil which traps the dirt and the other side bonds with water allowing you to wash the dirt and oil away.
Basically if it cleans and isn’t made from natural oils and fats then it is a detergent.
good question, i know lotion helps clean you so maybe thats in it.
it doesnt it just covers the stink. i wash myself with antibacterial soap then a nice smelling body wash
There are other things that can get you clean besides soap.
There are people in Europe that only go in a sauna and never use soap and they are very clean.
Also there are those who use oil to clean themselves.
Different things work without having to use harsh drying soap.
