is it ok to use fabric softener on baby stuff? I have really hard water and was wondering if that Downy free was ok to use on babies or if I should just not use any… or if anyone knows of a good baby fabric softener?

I thought that Snuggle(is that the right name?) was a pretty good fabric softener. I too have hard water so I use it.
I have hard water and I used tide free and downy free and his clothes turned out fine and I never noticed him breaking out or anything. They say to use that dreft stuff but I have never been able to get stains out of clothes with it and it was too expensive. Tide works so that is what I bought. I would suggest not washing all of your babies clothes in the fabric softener at first. Just a few outfits and sleepers to make sure that your baby doesn’t have an allergy to it. After that point wash away… Get ready to do a lot of laundry with a new baby and congrats
I don’t use any softner, but maybe you could look for one that is free of perfumes and dyes. I think that would be safest for a baby’s sensitive skin…IMO. =)
