I Want To Wash My Baby’s Clothes! Whats The Difference Between Baby Detergent And Free And Clear Detergent?

Is there a diffrence I use All free and clear for my self. I see the baby detergent at the stores. I just want to know if I can use free and clear or if I have to use baby detergent?

There really is no difference. I have been using All Free and Clear since the birth of my first son 4 years ago… Detergents like Dreft are NOT necessary and have not been around since the dawn of time.. so don’t let anyone talk you into thinking that you need to buy that over priced crap.
THE DIFFERENCE IS THE PRICE-

Only the price tag! LOL I use free and clear detergent on my babies clothes.
Some babies get eczema from regular detergents. Personally I just use the same detergent I’m using for my own clothes fro my son. I’m sure you can try your detergent and see how it goes…

Free and clear is fine for your baby. Those special “baby” detergents are a marketing ploy.
It is better to use free and clear on your baby’s clothing than it is to use a baby detergent. Not only is Dreft and other baby detergent expensive, but it still contains fragrance that can be irritating to some infants. It would be best to use the free and clear for your infant, as well. use free and clear. Baby detergents have “baby smell fragrance” and have more of a tendency to break out your baby. If you have sensitive skin chances are your baby will too. If the free and clear breaks out your baby (from experience) find the cheapest detergent out there. I spent about $400 the first month my son was born trying to find something that did not break him out. I finally found xtra and sun (which are the cheapest) did not break him out. It was a very expensive lesson.
We used the baby detergent for my granddaughter who has eczema. When she turned 1 we tried to switch to the free and clear and she broke out on her arms and legs. We have switched to another detergent that doesn’t break her out now. I know that the free and clear is supposed to be free of perfumes and dyes and such but there is something in it that causes her to break out real bad. She actually has scars from some of her outbreaks.
I would use the baby detergent until the baby is 1 . Then I would try different detergents until I found one that does not cause a problem.
babies detergent is supposed to be milder but free and clear should accomplish the same thing. IS your baby extrea sensitive. Before you wash all his or her clothes in the free and clear give it a test by just one outfit in it. If the baby doesn’t get irritated by it. then by all means go ahead.When my baby turned about 6 months I started using tide and downy it didn’t irritate her at all so I went on with it.
the price is the only differencs
I usually use baby detergent on my son’s clothes since he was born. He has never had any skin problems due to the detergent and I am quite happy with it.
i have always used tide to wash my kids clothes other detergents broke them out
I use free & clear & it is fine for baby!
I used one bottle of Dreft, then switched to All Free and Clear. My two sons were fine. I love Tide, and I tried the Tide Free and Clear at first and my older son broke out horribly. I asked his pediatrician about it, and she said that even though it’s “free”, there’s still one certain ingredient that Tide uses that irritates a lot of babies’ skin. (Probably why Tide works so well!) She suggested I switch to the All F & C and we’ve been using it ever since. My sons are now 2 1/2 years old and 14 months old, and we’re still using it.
I never used Dreft with my younger son…we started washing his stuff in All from birth.
I use All Free & Clear as well. I just prefer it.
Not sure, but I always stick to the brand made for babies — DREFT. My daughter hasnt had any allergic reaction to it. I also wash our sheets and comforter, and pillow cases with it as well. Anything that she will lay on, I wash it with DREFT.
The baby detergent is more expensive. I wash the whole families clothes using All Clear. When my daughter was younger (she’s now 11 months) she would get a little rash when other people would hold her. I discovered that the residue of other laundry detergents left on their clothes would irritate her skin a little. So, it’s better to use the same laundry detergent for the whole family. All Clear is less expensive and I have found cleans better than the baby detergent.
