If I Wear A Diaper For Bedwetting, Should I Put On Powder Or Lotion And Which First?
I had a horrible accident. I peed in my pants on the school bus and everyone saw. I’m in seventh grade by the way, and 12 years old is way too old to wet your pants. And then that night I wet the bed. My mom took me to the doctor and he said I had a urinary infection so he gave me antibiotics and a weeks worth of free sample bedwetter pants (pullup diapers). So I wore them, and used them
and my skin was itchy and raw in the morning. Should I use powder or lotion or what? I have a baby sister so all that stuff is in the house. I’m too embarrassed to ask my mom, so I thought I’d ask you since you have babies and know about this stuff. What should I put on and how much and in what order? Is it lotion then powder or powder first? My face is really red. I’m embarrassed even to type this but it’s serious.

First, which ever you choose, do not use both. This will make things worse. It is like making an abrasive cream…
Having said that, the difference between power and lotion is that power helps treat the skin, but does not protect it. The lotions, or diaper rash creams, actually create a protective barrier between your skin and your diaper.
The best are those made with a zinc oxide base, but those with cod oil or petroleum are also okay.
Hoping you’re feeling better soon, Mate.
Cheers!
You may be allergic to the pullups; try talking to your mom or doctor.
(I’m very impressed with your writing and spelling abilities by the way. I don’t think any of my middle school students are aware of how to use commas as well as you do.)
you dont want lotion… it moisturizes. you want powder because it will soak up the moisture from any urine and will more likely prevent irritation. when you do get a rash/irritated, thats when you would want to apply an ointment.
I always used baby lotion then baby powder then fasten the diaper.
For my baby, I use diaper rash ointment to prevent a diaper rash and diaper rash cream to help treat a diaper rash…so I’d try that if I was you.
Make sure that you wash up well before applying the ointment.
Is there a difference between using a pull-up or a diaper and would you use the same stuff they use on a baby? My mom is buying pampers cruisers size 7 because she said thay are cheaper than pull-ups and a diaper is the same thing. She bought diaper wipes and powder to use and said it’s so I don’t get a rash. Do you do that all the time? I wear the diapers for bed at night only.
