Is Anything For Us New Moms Really Free?!?
I, like many, am a new mom with VERY limited income. I have 3 other children and am, right now, unfortunately, living on child support only. Luckily the father of my newborn is here to help with living expenses. I have been trying to locate baby “stuff” and new mom “stuff” that is really free, that is, no charge, no shipping. Maybe shame on me for having my “hand out” but who can really blame me? Any fellow new moms know something I don’t? Please no mean answers like, “get a job…” etc. Extenuating circumstances are in place right now. Thanks for your information.

if you want free samples, I really like http://www.sampleaday.com . They are great because they are updated daily and all of their offers are “catch free”, that means no long surveys, no pay offers. They also have a e-mailing list where they send you the free samples listed on their site. I use that so I get them in my email (but it is not required to view the free samples). Their descriptions are pretty funny too! If you are looking for a specific type of free sample, there is a categories list, and a search bar right above categories so that you can do searches.
Anyways I hope you enjoy!
Oh yeah if you aren’t from the US you might like these sample sites. They are pretty much setup the same way but are special for specific countries

Contacting your local church or local charities will usually help. You can also try joining a freecycle group. Go to freecycle.org to sign up. People are always offering various baby items and household items, sometimes even food. You have to pick the items up usually, but people are usually giving away garbage bags full of clothes, blankets, and other baby items. You can also post things that you need and people can contact you saying that they have some items for you.
If you are only living off of child support, you should qualify for food stamp assistance and medical insurance. Food assistance will help you out very much. You should also qualify for WIC, which will give you cereal, milk, eggs, and other food items. Your caseworker can also help you get clothing and furniture vouchers. They have emergency help available and if they can not help you, they will refer you to a place that can. If you do not have these services, go to your state website and you can find the phone numbers and addresses that you need.
Have you asked local churches? My dad is a pastor and his church usually helps people who need it (as long as they’re not free-loaders).
Try yard sales, second hand stores, and buying generic. Used baby clothes are usually just as nice as new– they only wear them for a few weeks before they’re too big for them. Cut costs where you can– wash clothes in cold water, buy generic toilet paper, milk, Suave bath products, etc. Run all your errands at once so you don’t waste gas. Don’t use credit cards. Move into a cheaper house/apartment. Cut costs wherever you can.
You *could* try to work at the YMCA a few mornings a week– free child care and some extra income.
Nothing in life is free– not even for people who can afford it.
Not really. If you are in the US you can probably get all kinds of assistance such as food, daycare and cash assistance.
You might be able to get free membership to your local YMCA.
Regarding freebies, mostly they are just samples, which are good but definately won’t get you through more than a day here and there. Everything else is basically a ‘trial offer’ or promotion for buying something else.
You should sign your kids up for Toys for Tots! They give free toys to the people who need them in the christmas season. I’m pretty sure you can sign up at your local fire department.
Or you could try local churches. The usually have something for low income families as well.
Hope I helped!
I don’t know of anything that’s “free” but craigslist.com has good priced stuff that’s affordable. I mean, if you can’t get it for free, at least you can get it cheaper. I liked used clothes for my son.
Check out Craigslist for your area. There are always people giving stuff away….or selling for very cheap. Even if you can’t get it for free, if you can pay a fraction of the cost then why complain?
Try your local church, I am sure they are ready and willing to help people who are truly in need. I also commend you on having all three of your children, considering the circumstances…you are a very strong mom. I don’t think anything is technically “free” in this world except the air we breathe (right now anyways, hehehe), but definitely try everything you can for those babies, even try getting on WIC and governmental support. Good luck! I wish you and your children all the best.
