She just started eating formula about a month ago and we are still using all of the formula we received as free gifts. She has been eating Enfamil Lipil but now all i have is Similac Advance. Is it ok to just switch brands like that?

Its not good to switch formula unless she has a problem with the one that she has. Like my daughter, she was initially on similac advanced, she couldnt take itbecause it made her so gassy so we put her on sensitive, same problems, then we went to similac alimentum and nutramigen. Nothing worked. Finally we put her on soy and she was like a brand new baby. She has beenon soy ever since. Babies need routine when it comes to formula. If the formula that you have been giving her isnt Advanced and she isnt having a problem with it, then you shouldnt switch her because it could do more harm then good.
You might want to have her drink the Lipil, and then the next feeding switch to the Advance, and then back to the Lipil, until you run out of one, that way she can start adjusting, but she may not like a certain type of formula especiallyif she isn’t used to it, or she may love it, you just have to try and see.
my poor son switched formulas around 8 times (I couldn’t breastfeed because of my medication) before we found one that worked for him; it didn’t seem to hurt him. just watch out for gas. if she does get gas, I would suggest adding Tummy Soother to her next bottle (it seems to stop the pain but sometimes makes bowel movements a little looser than normal). you can get it at walgreens.
If she seems to have gas she coudl be allergic to dairy. If so, switch to soy formula. Just keep an eye on her. But better yet stick to breastfeeding and skip the formula. It’s safest in the long run.
It’s not really good to switch around. Once you have found a type that works, you should stick with it. It might cause an upset stomach. Not worth switching just to save a few bucks.
see if you can qualify for WIC ..upi wpil;d be suprized at the income guidelines..esp. if one of you isnt working and the other one is.
