That is absolutely fine. It will nor hurt at all.
Oh lord- what is this world coming to with people stealing formula??? Really! Anyways, It should be fine. He may actually be better with it because its more gentle on his little tummy. But what I would do to avoid the switch at all- is call your ped and ask for a few sample cans of enfamil. Mine used to give me samples (gave me 6 sample cans once!) because my son was on Alimentum ($26 for a 16oz can) and it was sooooo expensive and i ran out before my WIC date. Try that first, if not use the lactose free.
Lactose free formula has the lactose (the natural sugar in milk) replaced by less natural types of sugar — which makes it even further removed from baby’s natural food. (Breastmilk.)
Babies are never lactose intolerant, so lactose-free formula is just a gimmick. If it’s all you have, it’s ok — but I’d get a better formula ASAP.
Yeah, I think it’s okay. My friend gives her baby soy formula and he’s not intolerant to regular formula at all. But if you’re still not to sure then you can just call the doctor and ask.
no problems doing that. You may notice if they have been “gassy” before, they may not be now. It doesn’t harm the baby at all to not have the lactose. All my kids were and are lactose intolerant.
yes its fine what you should do is give him one bottle of the lactose free and the next regular infamil until you run out of the regular
it should be okay, just make sure you do a gradual switch, by mixing the two little by little..
I wouldnt see a problem with it.
Yes, lactose free should be fine.
It is a bit of a switch in kinds. Its not that its Lactose free that is the problem- this actually makes it gentler. The concern is that you are switching types of formula. If you were going from one brand of formula to another but the type stayed the same no issue but this is not the case. I can’t see there being to big of an issue but because of the switch there could be an adjustment period for your son- a little gas or constipation in the first day or two. Its up to you, some babies have no trouble when switching formulas, just be prepared in case he does. I understand your predicament – perhaps you want to call your sons doctor and talk to them. They can tell you if its okay or they may even have samples of the kind you give to son. Enfamil is the one that most doctors and hospitals use
