Is Lactose Free Milk Also Good For Baby?
my nephew preferred to eat rice instead of his milk, he is only 9 months old, but when we accidentally buy a “LACTOSE FREE” milk he likes it and preferred milk instead of rice. whenever his hungry he chooses milk. and when we get back to a “MILK SUPPLEMENT” milk he just get back on his interest to eat rice instead of his milk.
but the problem is, the LACTOSE FREE milk indicated in its label that the milk is for medication purposes and needs a pediatricians prescription.
can someone give some comment on this?
i’ll appreciate it. thanks!

NO milk like that isnt good for babies cows milk isnt even good for babies under 12 months – they should have breast milk or formula as a drink..
they shouldnt drink any cows milk or lactose free milk or soya milk until a year old and not without doctors advice to change to it
under a year old breastmilk/formula should be there main source of nutrition, it isnt healthy for him to be having rice as his main source of nutrition its a filler food with not as much nutirtion as he needs, if anything tyou should get him on furit/veg and meats natural nutrition with no ‘added iron’ normal occuring iron and vitamins etc which is healthier, rice is only a starter food to get them used to solids and i skipped it as my doctor told me its not nutritional and unecesarry. push formula as much as possible as its vital, solids are not so vital, which may mean dropping a solid feed and so when hes hungry he will take the formula. seek a dietirician and see how they can help, as you dont want him getting malnourished…they should be having around 24 ounces of formula at that age if its alot under that i would be highly concerned and seek medical help
there is no proff that breast feeding or bottle feeding makes them smarter, but breast milk is better for them at the start. i am lactose intolerantt myself an when i was a baby and i went from breast milk to normal milk i could only have soy milk just talk to apediatriciann
lactose free milk is only suitable for your baby if your baby is sensitive to lactose so do not give it to him unless really need
breast feed, makes them smarter. or give full cream milk, needs the fat
