A person at my husband’s work gave us 8 cans of unopened similac for sensitive tummies (the red lid). My question is this: Is it ok to give her the similac for sensitive tummies even though she doesnt have any tummy problems? Id hate to have all that free formula go to waste! Thanks to anyone who can help!

Yes it’s fine, and generous of her since that stuff is expensive!
my son had to be on special formula nutramigen since he was 1 month for intolerance….after he hit 6 months he was able to have regular milk based formula but for some odd reason my sons pediatrician wants to keep him on nutramigen until his first birthday…i did try milk based formula last week when i ran out and he wouldnt touch it…he is so used to the nutramigen and he is 8 months old now …but im sure there isnt anything wrong with it or my sons doctor would have tooken him off it…the only down fall for us is now my son wont drink any other formula…and nutramigen is very pricy.
um its really not good to switch it up, but sensitive tummys is always a safe way and it wont hurt if you do switch to it…the red lid is soy right? i have my son on the red similac its similac isomil soy….it is great.
if you plan on keeping ur baby on the red lid than go for it!
SIMILAC SENSITIVE( ORANGE LID ) IS LACTOSE FREE…SO IF U START UR BABY ON THAT MILK SHE MIGHT NOT WANT TO DRINK THE REGULAR ONE AGAIN OR HER TUMMY MIGHT START HAVING PROBLEMS IF U SWITCH HER BACK. MY SON (9 WEEKS OLD) IS ON SIMILAC SENSITIVE BECAUSE OF THE GAS ….. HOW COME U JUST DO NT EXCHANGE AT TARGET OR WILMAR THEY WILL CHANGE IT WITH OUT A RECIVE AS LONG AS ITS UN OPEN …
It should not hurt her. I would not let it go to waste. You can try a can to see if there is any changes in her eating habits or any change in her behavior. If she does not have a problem with it then give it to her.
Go ahead and use it.
If it was soy or a specialized food, then I wouldn’t but yours is just a regular formula.
