craigslist and freecycle are good for used items. Also I know that a lot of people don’t know this, but Babies R Us has a multiples discount.

I post new free samples everyday. (And there are a TON Of baby samples/coupons) They’re totally free (no shipping, no credit card, nothing) and I check them out to make sure they are legit. My mailbox is full of free samples everyday.
try http://www.freecycle.org they have people in your area that are “donating” things they no longer need and some of the things are in great condition you just have to kind of pick and choose. good luck!!
above are great ideas for clothes. you can also get lots of coupons for free packs of diapers and formula if you call the companies (i.e. pampers, huggies, enfamil, similac, etc.) hit yard sales and lookf or ads in papers for cribs, swings, seats, etc. some are crap, but others are cheap treasures!
you can go to ebay.com, craigslist.com, freecycle.org. Or go to the walmart and kmart websites online, sometimes they have really good sales with outfits for like $3.00. You just have to do a little shopping around. You can also try classiccloseouts.com
Once you find out the gender, just have a humongous baby shower and you should get loads of stuff. It sounds bad to do that, but I mean, come on, what else are they for? =P
