ask your pediatrician for advice, my daughter did that when she was a baby and I had to watch her very carefully, and always have a million cloth diapers on hand to wipe up the spillover
Have you tried the gas relief tummy drops? Those are wonderful! Also, what kind of bottles are you using? Try Dr. Brown’s bottles. They are the greatest invention ever. They have a long tube that goes down the middle and it suckjs all the air to the bottom of the bottle so the baby doens’t get any in their tummy. I used them with my son and he never hardley even spit up at all, never had tummy aches, and never had a bit of collick.
I would recommend taking the little tyke to the pediatrician as soon as you can. It sounds like he is having swallowing problems and he may have gastric problems also. I would talk to the pediatrician about the formula you are using. It may be you need to change his formula. I know a little girl who went through at least 4 different types of formula for similiar reasons to your son and her parents finally put her on a soy and she did fine. It was touch and go for a while there though. Dont wait, take the child to the doctor and get that checked out, something is wrong.
Try using the Nestle Good Start. Do not force any particular kind of formula on him. If it does not agree with him, there could be an underlying reason. It could bvery well be that he has a milk allergy. They are quite common. To treat this condition, the milk proteins have to removed from the nursing mother’s diet, which you need to see the pedriatican about or if he is on formula, you have to stop the formula and put him on an amino acid-based formula. Also there are a lot of different kinds of bottles. Some vent out the air better than others. He could be taking too much air. Try using Aventi bottles. We had better luck with that brand and he got better with his feeding as he got older.
This sounds like the same problem my daughter had when she was about 2 months old. Turns out she has GERD, or reflux disease. She needed to be put on Similac Alimentum, take liquid Zantac twice a day, and have 1 tblsp on cereal in every bottle to help keep the formula down. She is now almost 7 months old and has completely outgrown it.
talk to your pediatrician. you might want to ask about elevating the head of his crib if he’s regurgatating at night.
Check to see if your bottle nipple is a slow flow. My sis in law has a newborn and I noticed she kept spitting out the formula and choking on it when I was feeding her. It turned out she didn’t even think about if the nipple was a slow flow. She was using a fast flow meaning the the hole in the nipple is larger so more formula comes out, she just used the bottles because they were a gift. So when the baby sucked too much was coming out causing her to choke and spit up.
ask the dr, you should be able to call and get an answer over the phone. I used Similac Advanced, the Dr had me change to Soy..then that didnt work so we tried Nutramigen. The spitting up didnt end so they put my son on Zantac for reflux. This finally ended the excessive spitting up…just a warning the soy stinks and the nutramigen stinks even more !
