May be one pack. otherwise use all the newborn diapers, they’ll make a great gift for the next baby shower you go to.

I went straight to the 1′s.. my daughter came out at eight pounds. That is the starting weight for that size. I would take all the Newborn diapers back because you will not use them. If on the off chance you do need them, it will be maybe one pack or so. It will be easier and not to mention cost effective to just put them in 1′s from the start.

My son was 8lbs at birth and went right to Size 1 with the front folded down a bit. Many of the newborn diapers have a cut-out in them so they won’t rub on the healing ambilical stump, but it’s not neccessary.
Keep your N diapers & stock up a bit on size 1 as well. If you don’t use all the newborn diapers, they’ll make a great gift for the next baby shower you go to.

A little of both…We had our baby shower, we ended up with all different sizes, it really helped in the long run.

it depends on how big the packages are you might just use two bags and have to return the others to get size 1

I would wait until you know for sure. Most major retailers will take unopened packages back w/o a receipt. My daughter was in N’s for about 1.5 months, then in a 1 for about 3 months and has been in a 3 for the last 2 months.
When I was preggers I got in the habit of buying a package every time I went to the store. That way I didn’t get quite the ‘sticker shock’ everytime I went shopping after she was born.
Another good idea is to have someone throw your husband/boyfriend a “Poop and Poker” party. Kind of like a boys baby shower. Instead of cutsie presents, everyone should bring diapers and/or wipes. GREAT way to stock up!!

My daughter was in the newborns for about 2 months, then went to the 1/2′s (for some reason several brands combine them) for what seemed like forever. She is almost 2 and has been in size 3′s for about a year. If she weighs 25 pounds now, she’s soaking wet with rocks in all of her pockets. She was 6 lbs 11 oz at birth.

I answered your other question as well, but if you can take back some of the newborn diapers I would or if you know someone else having a baby you could pass them on to her. Most babies are in the newborn diapers for about 2 weeks give or take depending on their size. The main difference in newborn and size one is that newborn diapers have the slope in front so it doesn’t hit their belly button before they lose the rest of their cord, however you can always fold down the front of size one diapers to allow room for the cord if the baby is bigger.

You should always stock up on ones and up. Most babies are not in Newborns too long.
