Question About Physicians Formula Make Up And Animal Testing?
The organic line of physicians formula make up makes a point of saying that it is 100 percent cruelty free (no animal testing, no animals products). But on their other lines it does not say anything about not testing on animals, but neither does almay, and they don’t test on animals. So does anyone know if ALL physicians formula products are free from animal testing…or is it just the organic line?

Wow, I was wondering the same thing myself! It’s probably just the Organic line ’cause then their regular stuff would probably also indicate ‘no animal testing’ somehow.

I know that several years ago, Physician’s Formula changed all their packaging to remove their “Cruelty Free” claim. They even put stickers on products in stock to cover up the claim.
Their website now says
“Physicians Formula Inc. does not conduct tests, or commission any outside facility to conduct tests that involve the use of animals.
The safety of our products is determined using such alternate methods as “in-vitro” testing, human clinical evaluations and human use-trials under the supervision of a Board Certified Dermatologist.”http://www.physiciansformula.com/en-us/s…
I didn’t see anything about all products being free from animal derived ingredients.
I found this info via a Bing search that lead me to the P.F. homepage. I then clicked on “FAQ”. All in all, it took about 30 seconds.
A look at the ingredients for “Baked Blush” shows Carmine. If you aren’t aware, Carmine is the shells of beetles.
In their Gentle Cover Concealor Stick, I found “ISOPROPYL LANOLATE” which is a lanolin derivative.
In the Organic Line, many products contain Beeswax, which is a Vegan no-no.
I’d also want to know where their Squalene comes from as it’s often an animal source (shark liver oil).
i think it’s just the organic line, although im suprised they dont have it on the package, it usually does.
Go to the horses mouth and ask.
