I am really leaning on using cloth diapers with my 7 month old and the one I have on the way. I am looking for a place to purchase them and the accesories needed to use them.
Ive also never used them before(well, since my 17 year old sister was a baby at least)so if you have any info you think I should know, feel free to let me know!
Thanks alot!

I am not low income but I live with my parents and they do not pay for everything Diego needs so my boyfriend and I have been paying alot of disposable diapers. Within the 8 months my son has been here, I am guessing we spent over $500 on diapers, not counting the pack I get for free each month and some my gma buys.
I finally discovered cloth diapers.
I was never told about them. NEVER!
no one told me how easy they were, no one told me how they have AIO. all I was ever told is that they are disgusting
then yesterday my gma tells me how wonderful they are.
so im switching.
many of my friends are low income and complain about how they cant afford good diapers.
so why doesnt WIC or welfare promote cloth to low income mothers?

We use All Free and Clear which until now I thought it was perfectly okay to wash our diapers in (the inserts and the outer waterproof diaper itself). I just recently read that All will break the diapers down and will destroy their waterproofing leading to leaks.
Does anyone know if this is actually true and if it is what else I can use to wash them?
I don’t really have any desire to buy a second detergent so I was thinking maybe Dawn and Baking Soda or Baking Soda and Vinegar then to dry in the sun.
Thanks.

moms, i would like to start a debate right here (tada) in this question about diapers. just a few facts, did you know that disposiable diapers are not ment to hold the poop in the trash, you are suppose to shake it off in the toilet jsut like a cloth diaper; reason; because the poop ends up in our land fills and poultes the ground with human pathogens and increasing the risk of the spread of disease. also, it take 500 years for a disposible diaper to biodegrate and 18-23 billion are thrown away each year. in time for the first years of diapers to biodegrate, 8,500,000,000,000-11,000,000,000,000 will be degrating still. we all know that diapers wernt around for 500 years and that they wont be for much longer, but could you imagine???
please just post opnions, not hate.
as for me, i use old fashioned cloth diapers and covers. they work just fine for us. i use chemical free detergent adn viniger to wash, it only takes 20 minutes to dry them and about 60 to wash them. i only wash one…

I have been cloth diapering my 2 year old girl for about a month. We have been totally rash free…until this morning. She woke up very red anywhere that the wet diaper touched. from about an inch under her belly button all the way up her poor little butt cheeks! it isn’t a raised rash, or bumps. It is just red! It is also hot to touch. any suggestions? Should I soak the diapers in something?

Where is the best place to buy cloth diapers in the lower mainland? Does anyone know of an actual store front where you can go and actually see the different diapers instead of just checking things out online? What is the best cloth diaper you have used? Feel free to leave any other cloth diaper info that I may find helpful

We use cloth diapers on my 6 week old. We use All free and clear to wash them and only use 1/4 of the recommended amount per wash. Rinse in cold first then wash with soap in hot. My diapers still have a slightly musty “dried pee” type smell to them even after washing and of course a few have some light poo stains. I’ve read a little bleach can be added to help these problems but I can’t find anywhere that says exactly how much bleach is “a little”. Any suggestions?

I received a lot of cloth diapers at my baby shower and do not plan on using them, I’ve contacted a couple churches but they do not accept them, Do womens shelters? are their any charitys that do or should I just place them for free on Craigslist. I don’t want to sell them because they were gifts I have over 60.

My husband and I have recently decided that cloth diapers are for us. We like that they’re chemical free, and have been known to aide in potty training. Being less than half the price doesn’t hurt either! (We’ll be doing the washing ourselves). Have any other moms-to-be made this choice yet???
Thanks!
