I recently had a baby and now have to be in a wedding in May, so I want to lose the baby weight, about 15 pounds right now (but ultimately about 25 or 30).
The problem is, I am mostly lactose intolerant and I do not eat meat. I am worried about the high fat content in some of the things I eat to get protein, such as nuts. I would love to learn some lower-fat options and want to know if weight watchers would be able to teach me these things (or where else I can learn this stuff).
My sister-in-law did weight watchers and it worked great for her. Polite answers only, please! Thanks…

My daughter is 11 1/2 months old and her doctor told me that if I ran out of formula within 3 wks of her turning 1 to go ahead and give her milk well the past three days I have gave her milk and at night she would wake up and just scream, so yesterday I got some formula from a friend and gave my daughter only formula and she slept just fine. (She was on milk-based formula and did ok but when we switched her to lactose free formula she did much better but she never had a lot of issues) So should I giver her lacto free milk or try with milk again or should I just stick formula until her 12 month appt. (Please no ask your doctor answers I plan on bringing it up with her doctor on her next appt.) Thanks in advanced.

i know it’s a stupid question, but whatever. like i said, i don’t like eating. and baby formula seems to have a bunch of good stuff in it, but not alot of calories. so would it be okay to drink that for a meal instead of eating?
i got a free sample in the mail and it’s “enfamil next step lipil-a nutritious alternative to whole milk”.
in case you need to know, i’m 18, i’m 5’6, and i weigh 121 pounds (ew.)

It depends upon the hospital, and the funds they have available at the time. I had both my children at the same hospital, but received different items each time.
For the first, I was given a diaper bag with some diapers, formula, and a couple bottles, as well as samples of various diaper rash ointments and wipes.
For the second, I was given all the above, but was given more of each, plus a newborn car seat. The car seat was nice, since it was the type that could be carried, and the one we had purchased was the sort that was too heavy to be easily carried.

my son is is months old. his belly isn’t very sensitive and we’ve been able to switch back and forth between brands of formula with no problems, but they have all been milk based.
my local kroger is re-doing there organic section and some products are 90% off. theres nothing wrong with the things, they just need the room and are discontinuing the sale of some items. i got my son some organic baby food for 34 cents/jar and saw that they have some 1.5 oz cans of earths best organic soy formula on sale. we get wic and he uses similac advance milk base. we get free formula and all but it is almost not enough for him as is and i know as the weeks go by he will need more and more to keep him satisfied. would it be ok to buy these cheap cans and feed them to him mixed w/ the similac or even alone in a bottle?
the cans are regularly 22.50 marked down to 8 something. this is cheaper then even parents choice, plus its organic which i suppose couldn’t be any worse than the non organic. the only thing i’m worried about is the soy vs milk. he has never had any soy products so far either. is it ok to keep on hand in case i run out or for whatever reason get kicked off wic or anything?

Doubtful. The only thing our hospitals give is formula & a (crappy) diaper bag. There are places that will help you get a car seat. Call your local WIC office and see what they can tell you. As for a stroller, you can get one for $10 at Wal-Mart & K-Mart.

My son would drink from them. I went out and bought a few bottles and tried them out. I found I like the Avent bottles or the playtex dropins the best.

My very bst friend got a big surprise, a BABY, she did not even know until she was 7 mths, no kidding, she didn’t show or anything, her BF has been looking for a job and is on unimployment, the only thing he has found after about a year is a job as a bouncer and that pays very little, she works for a small art company and does side work with art, she recieved unpaid maternity leave and I believe the reason she has not returned yet is because her BF does have some mentle issues and I believe she is concerned he wouldn’t be able to properly care for an infant, she was a very hardworking person before this. Her mom was able to buy her a crib and car seat but thats all, to make matters worse the child has eye problems, the doctor is worried about glocoma and she has to drive 45 minutes to the apointments atleast once a mth wich eats money in gas. I did th best I could to help her, ( once she finally let me know she is so embarrassed to be unale to do better) they had to buy the baby VERY used stuff, stained crib sheets, broken toys, she couldn’t afford oragel or a teething ring. I did the best I could for them and baought them some new toys and crib sheets and some diapers and such but I can only do so much, these are wonderful people that just need help, I told her to call the catholic charities and they informed her thy would help her once in a 12 mth period and only up to $100 on a rent or utility payment, the baby has medicaid but foodstamps has been giving them the run around, I was considering just calling random companys ( baby food clothes diapers toys first aid ect, food companys, any companys and just asking if they had any programs to to maybe send them some actually good coupons ( I have them signed up at al the useual cupon sites), or perhaps if they have a program for needy people to send out some free products. If anyone knows of any companies I should start with or is familar with any chairities that might help them get back on there feet it would really help out a great family and save alot of wasted time of me just random calling. BTW Florida is our area if that matters.
Please, this is serious so no jokes about birth control or the useual sort of stuff that gets tossed at these very serious question.
thanks
