Soymilk.

Any Suggestions? Tried Enfamil Gentlease, Good Start, Good Start Soy and tried swapping bottles. No results. She is going to the doc today…

I’ve tried EVERYTHING to help her with her gas, and nothing is working. And its beginning to really bother me. The doctor never seems really worried… But she’s passing gas CONSTANTLY and LARGE amounts at a time. It very uncomfortable for her… and we’ve tried everything at this point.
Mylicon, playtex dropins, gripe drops (get rid of hiccups) bicycle legs, elevation after feeding and constant burping her. And she’s also on Enfamil Gentlease…. But nothings really helping. Should we switch formula again??? I am going to talk to her doctor about it, and the fact that I am positive she’s having reflux problems (can that have anything to do with gas)? I don’t know I just hate her being uncomfortable. Sometimes she passes gas easily…. but other times she strains and strains, and I just want to help her so bad. Any advice??? She’s 8 weeks.

I asked earlier today whether I should try convert my 5mth old to normal milk as I have heard it is bad to keep them on lactose free. I know now that it wont effect how he handles lactose later if I stay with the lactose free stuff, but I do want to change him over onto normal milk based formula (mainly as there is only 2 places in town I can get his lactose free stuff and its expensive).
Should I just switch it altogether at once, or do it gradually?
Of course if he doesnt go well with it, I will go back to lactose free…

Lactose Free Infant Formula?

My 9 week old was on Isomil Soy by Similac, and I switched to Similac Sensitive (milk based, lactose free) with doc’s ok, due to him being constipated and trying everything form Karo to juice to help it on soy. He is pooping fine now that I made the switch, but is very irritable and I noticed little clusters of bumps on cheeks and chin. Is this an allergic reaction?

My sisters son was on Lactose free milk for a long time….when his teeth appeared a couple were black the dentist said that the milk was very bad, long term, for young teeth. Nobody told my sister about this and she had to watch her young son go into theatre to have, originally 2 but they saw more were on the way out so he had 4 teeth removed.
Ask a Doctor or health visitor for advice!

There has actually been studies to show that soy can cause swelling in the brains of young children and babies. My son what Lactose Intolerent and I used the lactose free stuff.
