I was reading the What To Expect the first year, and it said you should use cotton balls instead of wipes on a newborn. I’m all for having a healthy baby, and not using harsh chemicals on my baby (like organic cottons and chlorine free and organic diapers, etc) but cotton balls sound ridiculous to me. It seems like it would take forever and be a big mess if you tried to change a messy diaper like that. Moms, what’s your opinion on this?

My one week old has a diaper rash, and it was suggested by several people on here to give her some time without a diaper to expose her bottom to the air. Should she be on her back for this, or can we (should we) put her on her stomach to get some tummy time in as well?

I’ve heard from some posts that the hospitals send you home with some baby things. Out of curiousity what did you get from your hospital when you go home??
Also, I’ve heard something about a coupon you present and you get a free diaper bag?? Anybody know?

I have been given free formula samples from different companies and wish to use them, but I have chosen to breastfeed if possible. Can I do both without causing any problems with my newborn? The baby is my first and is coming this weekend!!
