ALL of Asda’s own brand baby bottles are BPA free…the really cheap ones that they sell…I think they’re about 1.50 for three! I’ve been ordering glass ones off the internet and it was costing me almost £20.00 for three including postage! Asda dont make a big deal of it on the packaging…it just says “BPS free” in really small writing…plus I never would have bought those cheap ones if I hadn’t know they were BPA free…did you know this?

I have been asked to watch the child of an an aquaintance. I was looking for some information:
What do they charge you? and for how long?
What are the parents in charge of providing? Diapers, snacks etc..
What if the child has special dietary needs such as vegetarian? Do I charge more for special meals?
What is the typical drop off/pick up time? How about time overages? Do I charge?
Please feel free to add anything that I might have forgotten. I am in Maine if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!!

ok am i the only one who thinks this is just a really stupid idea or what? ok so im due in 3 weeks and my parents are trying to tell me that we are going to be having open houses and stuff like 2 weeks after the baby is born. and im having a c section. ok im pretty sure im not going to be ready to do much in two weeks afterwards let alone keep the house looking spotless and clutter and baby free and leave the house for 3 to 4 hours so some strangers can go in and touch everything. no way! i duno what to do. he said i have no choice. im on the verge of screaming and crying, they are saying i cant have alot of baby stuff around the house. so somehow i have to fit all this baby stuff in my room including all my toddlers stuff clean at the same time so people can come and look at the house whenever they want. what if someone comes over that is sick? i have 2 babies that can get sick. am i over reacting or is this just not right?

Please make sure you read the article to the end. What disturbs me most are these two things:
His mother took the diaper-less tot to a tree in the yard, held him in a squatting position and made a gentle hissing sound — prompting the infant to relieve himself on cue before he rushed back to play.
And then this:
Isis Arnesen, 33, of Boston, has a 14-week-old daughter, Lucia, who is diaper-free. She said it can be awkward to explain the process to people, such as when she helped Lucia relieve herself in a sink at a public restroom.
What are these people thinking? I mean, 3 years old is too old being diaper-free but starting from birth? And don’t forget – not all “must go now” can be accommodated, that means clean-up big time.
And why does it have to be the yard or the sink???? If you have to teach them, teach the the right way – A TOILET!!!!
I am just speechless. What do you think?

Why Don’t More Parents Use Cloth Diapers?

I do workshops in my town that gives information on cloth diapers. I do the cost analysis, explain the washing process, etc. etc. but parents still choose disposable anyway. They love the convenience and could care less about anything else. I am a full time working mom and I still have time to do 2 extra loads of laundry a week. It’s so easy to cloth diaper a baby these days, and the environmental factor is huge.
I really think these parents don’t care about the thousands of tons of diapers that our next generation of adults will have to somehow manage. I am so frustrated… I do this workshop for free because I don’t want my kids to suffer in mountains of trash for the rest of their lives.

because he spits up almost every drop of the regular formulas right now. Lately, though, it appears as though he is spitting up alot of the Similac stuff as well. He spits so much of it up, he is hungry a half hour after I feed him and it feels like I am feeding him around the clock. I asked my pediatrician about all this and she gave me a sample of the Enfamil Lactose free formula but when I got it home, I compared the ingredients to the Similac and low and behold they are almost identical so I really don’t see how one would work better than the other. Does anyone have or had a similar situation? What formula worked for you? My son is 5 weeks old and he seems to be very gassy as well. The Similac is supposed to be formulated for gassy and fussy babies.
