Quick Question About Hospital Diaperbag?

Is anybody else irritated by the fact that when you get the free diaper bag w/ samples at the hospital that you get what ever formula they use not necessarily the kind you’ll use?

A Question For Cloth Diapering Mommies?

I have been wanting to switch to cloth for a while now, but not sure which diapers work best….All-in-one, or pocket? and why? Any reccomendations on good (cheap) diapers? How many will I need (my son goes diaper-free for a good portion of the day)?

Baby Clothes Washing Question?

I was about to start washing the baby’s clothes with Dreft, and I bought perfume free, dye free fabric softener sheets. I came on here to see if anyone had any recommendations of liquid perfume free, dye free liquid fabric softeners and then I started reading all this stuff about not even using fabric softeners on baby clothes. Does this mean I should not use the perfume free, dye free sheets? Any help would awesome, I am going to be a first time mommy in 6 weeks!

Can I Ask An Intelligent Question?

It seems to be the thing now a days, that if you cant have a baby and if you have the money you get IVF treatments and then give birth to a litter. Or if your lucky you only have 1, but alot are giving birth to litters. And after giving birth to a litter you always get freebies such as free diapers, free childcare, free formula, free baby clothes, freee crip , and your own reality T.V show on top of the many other incentives. Now I had my daughter at 19 and I have struggled a very long time, working, paying rent and supporting myself. I think its very unfair that these people get all kinds of attention along with their freebies after giving birth to multiples and I have struggled along with other single mothers for so long. How come I or any other single mother didnt get any attention or incentives, our own reality T.V show, free diapers, free this or that. I know I didnt think I would be single, but my daughters dad and I did not make it. In fact I have been unable to collect 1 dime from him and my daughter is now 13. But it makes me angry that if you live in this country you get more attention giving birth to a litter then you would if you were just a plain old struggeling single mother. Do I have a right to be upset. What Are your thoughts on this?
Also, I just heard that the Gosslins just bout a 1.5 million dollar home from their earnings from the reality T.V. show and both of them get to now stay at home with their kids.

I’m curious about parents who are formula feeding but planned to breastfeed.
Did you get formula from your OB/Hospital/Pediatrician without asking for it? Did you get marketing materials from any formula companies or samples of free formula in the mail?
I got formula from my OB, the hospital, and from my pediatrician’s office upon request when my twins were born. I say upon request because I was told that if you have twins and your pediatrician sends a letter to enfamil they give you a free case so I had them send a letter when my girls were around 6 weeks old.
Aside from that, though, I got checks, free formula in the mail, pamplets, and a “breastfeeding” bag from Enfamil (2 actually, 1 for each baby) where they had a little booklet about problems with breastfeeding, ice bags for frozen milk with the enfamil logo on them, and free cans of formula.
Is it any wonder I ended up giving my twins formula constantly when they came home and I was frustrated with pumping and trying to get them to nurse?
With my son, whom I am breastfeeding, I have gotten nothing.
No formula from my midwife, no swag bag, nothing in the mail because the office I went to with my son doesn’t sell your info to nestle, the makers of similac, and enfamil. Nothing from the hospital because they are recognized by the WHO as baby friendly…
nothing!
Is it any wonder that I am breastfeeding him with success?
Just curious if you all had the same experience as me!

is it ok to use fabric softener on baby stuff? I have really hard water and was wondering if that Downy free was ok to use on babies or if I should just not use any… or if anyone knows of a good baby fabric softener?

Baby Formula Question…..?

does anyone know what enfamil’s lactose free formula is? will it work with kids who are lactose intolerant and allergic to soy??
