Diaper Rash Still There… It’s Been A Week?

My 3 week old baby developed diaper rash around Christmas. We tried switching to fragrance free diapers and are using Triple Paste, which helped a lot, but there is still some raw-looking rash there.Tonight I also noticed that the rest of her bottom looks a little red, which is how the bad diaper rash started.
I am calling doc in the morning… but wondering if she could possibly be allergic to the disposable diapers? Anyone have experience with this? My mom and sis both suggested maybe she might need cloth diapers… She never sits in wet diapers for long; I change her diapers very frequently. I also use fragrance-free wipes for sensitive skin. I also try to let her sit without a diaper as long as possible, whenever possible…
I’m desperate for a little help / suggestions while I wait for the clinic to open in the morning. THANK YOU!

Need Help With Persistant Diaper Rash.?

My 7 1/2 week old infant has a persistant diaper rash and it’s pretty raw. I am doing all I can for it including changing his diaper every hour or less (as soon as its soiled), using water and soft paper towels instead of wipes, and drying him completely before applying creams and his diaper. The problem is he poops constantly-nearly with every wet diaper…like 15 times a day…so keeping his bottom out of poopie is nearly impossible. I have been letting him go diaper free a couple times a day for a few minutes outside in the fresh air. I have tried all kinds of ointments and creams. I just started using a mixture of aquaphor and neosporin by pediatricians advice. If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what else I can do other than wait for his next doc appt on the 3rd. I may just try rinsing his bum under the faucet instead of using towels as my mom suggested-he doesn’t like that much and its inconvenient to say the least. Any suggestions or home made remedies?

Rash With Cloth Diapers?

I have been cloth diapering my 2 year old girl for about a month. We have been totally rash free…until this morning. She woke up very red anywhere that the wet diaper touched. from about an inch under her belly button all the way up her poor little butt cheeks! it isn’t a raised rash, or bumps. It is just red! It is also hot to touch. any suggestions? Should I soak the diapers in something?

paper towels (we ran out of wipes) On monday he came back from daycare in a poopy diaper and i noticed a rash on his bottom and genitals, i put vaseline on it….on Tuesday he woke up and it spread and looked more inflamed…i put Desitin on him and alerted his Daycare to change him more frequently…don’t know what to do he keeps crying and seems very uncomfortable

I love my MIL, but every time she watches my son (15 mos.), w/in 24 hrs, he has blisters and horrible diaper rash! She’s diabetic & eats sugar-free foods. She mentions giving my kids ‘snacks’ (which are ok by me, but I’ve noticed all are sugar-free), but when I pick them up, my daughter (7) complains about her stomach hurting & my son’s butt looks horrible! I can usually clear it up w/baking soda and Lanolin overnight, but would the sugar-substitues be causing this issue? I’ve researched it online & see it does cause GI problems – but someone else? I believe in my kids eating healthy, but enjoying too – so I don’t feed them fat-free, low cal, sugar free stuff – heck, they’re kids! And, I do a lot of cooking so they don’t eat a lot of chemically altered/processed food. Maybe their systems aren’t used to it? Just some insight b/c my poor son’s butt can’t handle this anymore!

Diaper Rash Caused By Cloth Diapers?

My daughter (6 months) has been getting a diaper rash whenever she is in cloth diapers. This seems quite backwards to me.
They are Fuzzi Bunz. I wash with free & clear detergent, and run at least one rinse when they are done.
I have had her in disposables because the rash happens literally every time she is in cloth.
What can i do to stop this? This started happening around 4-5 months old (I haven’t been using the cloth any more) so it has to be somethign with the diapers.
Please help!
