It may look like i changed a lot but actually she was on one from the hospital for a week and a half and the doctor said change to soy. she was on that for 3 weeks and became extremely fussy all day after drinking it.the doctor said try alimentum and because of her reaction the doc said stay on soy. I then switched doctors. The new one said try good start and she would not even take it so technically she never had it. Now we are trying sensitive lactose free.

Is Switching Formula Ok?

My son is just about to head off to day care and they offer Carnation Good Start formula for free, but we feed him Emfamil at home. Will it be okay for him to go back and forth,(Emfamil at home and Carnation at day care) or should we send Emfamil with him to day care? Have no clue please help me out.

Switching A Baby From Formula To Milk?

My son was breastfed until he was about three months with supplementing formula here and there. He was then put on Lactose free formula and is now 11 months old. Anytime I give him dairy of any kind he ends up with runny poops. Yet there’s always something else going on that could also give him the runny poop- antibiotics, teething, virus.. you name it. So we haven’t been able to narrow it down to if it’s the dairy giving him the diahrea yet or not. Any of you mom’s that had trouble switching from formula to milk how did it affect the baby? How did you finally figure out if it was the lactose intolerance or something else and how long did it take to fully get your baby switched to milk, or were you ever able to?

Baby Switching From Formula To Milk?

Hi,
My dd (14mths) is starting the transition from formula to milk. She was on several formulas as an infant due to spitting up and constipation. She ended up on Alimentum until she was 6 months and then switched to lacto-free formula. It was never determined that she was lactose intolerant he just felt this would be an easier transition from the alimentum. I am now wanting to at least try whole milk with her before going to soy. I tried to find an organic lacto-free whole milk and was unable to so I decided to just try the organic whole milk as I don’t really know if she has a lactose problem anyway. My question is what signs should I be looking for to determine whether she is able to “handle” the whole milk. Will it take a while or will I notice a problem shortly after she drinks it. So far she has had one cup full half formula (2 oz) half whole milk. (2oz) I just would like to know others experience and any tips on making the transition easier on her tummy. Thanks!

Switching Formula?

I have a 3 1/2 month old daughter. We started out breatfeeding, but we ended up on formula. She started out on regular enfamil, but that gave her gas that made her scream all night. We switched to gentlease which actually made it worse. We finally ended up on soy. I do not feel that my daughter is lactose intolerant, but i do feel like she is sensitive to it as am I. I was contemplating switching her to the lacto-free formula because she is spitting up so much. It seems that every time she eats, she spits up in between feedings. It doesn’t seem to bother her so I kinda ruled out reflux. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I was hoping that switching her to lacto free formula would alleviate the spitting up a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My daughter has been on Similac Advance Soy formula and I had a coupon for a free Nestle Soy and I have heard good things about this brand so I tried it. Since starting the Nestle formula she has been spitting up a lot and acting like it’s bothering her stomach. Anyone else have this problem? I thought Nestle was supposed to be gentler on the stomach. Should I go back to the Similac or give it a couple days?

Our son is 11 months old now and is almost ready to go to regular milk (Yay! No more formula!) but I am trying to figure out the best way to go about it. It seems that Enfamil has discontinued Lacto-Free formula (at least I can’t find it anywhere locally) so he is taking GentleEase, but that seem real watery…any ideas?

He’s not sick. Doctor said to try a lactose free formula. He’s been on GoodStart since 7 months, he’s almost 10 months now. He was breastfed up to 7 months.

Hi all- my son is on Similac Sensitive, a lactose free formula. He has been on this since he was a month old, and he is now 4 months. We ended up using this formula after trying many others, thinking this was the reason for his fussiness. Long story short, he has reflux- that is why he was fussy. I would like my son to go back to milk-based, has anyone done this switch? If so, how did it go?

She is just about 1year old. I know that babies can start drinking regular milk from 1 year. She is lactose intolerant, so she is on lactose free formula. She will be on lactose free milk also. Is there anything i have to know before switching her?
Also, once babies are 1year can they switch between milk & formula without upsetting their tummies? Example, if she had milk at home. but formula when we go out?
