Moms, A Few Various Questions About Your Toddlers?
these are just random things i’ve always been curious about.
1. what do you usually dress your toddler in and why? (sweats, wind suits, dresses, jeans ect.)
2. How long did you use onesis for?
3. How long did you use bibs and put your child in the high chair for meals?
4. How much stuff do you take along to the grocery store and why? (diaper bag, purse, cup ect) and what do you take inside and what stays in the car?
I am particularly interested in number 4. I finally have a working car so my 17 month old son and I will be doing the majority of errands and shopping alone together. Before now, my fiance would take the bags inside (diaper bag and purse) and I would carry our son since we went to do all these things together on saturdays since he had the only working car. Well i have no problem carrying both, but i just wondered if I wouldn’t be better off putting a diaper and a travel pack of wipes in my purse (its on the large side) and taking maybe his cup in with us? But then I think well what if he pees through his clothes or something and needs totally changed? I can’t leave him inside while i run out, and i can’t very well take my wet and unhappy toddler out in the cold and wind and abandon our full cart inside. s oi figure i may as well take it all in. but i’m just curious to see what other mothers think and what they do?
please answer all of my questions above, but particulary give any advice on what you do with your toddlers things and how you make grocery shopping and running errands with a little one as stress free and comfy as possible.
thank you!
Have You Ever Felt Like You Want To Shake The People At Your Child’s School?
I know I am feeling particularly sensitive today, but bear with me:
My child had baby eczema, this lasted for years, right up until he was 3, but has since cleared, because I carefully apply the correct moisturisers, have never changed any of his soaps or powders, and always get products for sensitive skin, if I must buy outside of his usual stuff (such as shops own scent free baby soaps). The school have never seen his eczema flare up, because since he started there, he’s never had one.
Recently, his dry skin is back, just like in the cold weather when he was a baby – but I am making sure I keep it dry after baths, apply his Oilatum, do not change his products etc. It is very red around his neck, but I believe he has been scratching it too, as 6 year olds are wont to do!
Yesterday, his teacher pointed it out, making sure to speak veerrrrry slowly, as I am obviously stupid, and have not noticed this – So I told her about his baby eczema and how to me, this flare up seems very mild compared to how it was when he was seeing a dermatologist at the hospital, I had already made plans to check him up with his GP as I am taking my younger son for his injections today.
Today, the school secretary grilled me as if I was a bad mother on every product I use, occasionally she would say “you shouldn’t use that you know?” and I would shut her up by pointing out that if a qualified dermatologist and all of his GPs have said there is no possible way that was causing his eczema then THEIRS is the opinion I shall go with. Again, I said I had already spoken to his teacher AND made arrangements to get an appointment for him.
DO these stupid people seriously think I would neglect my son? How on earth can they have been in teaching for so long and never seen eczema? They must think I am one of those evil parents who does not care!
Has anyone else felt that people at the school need a good hard slap?
If I was the sort of mother that did not care, do they seriously think I would mend my ways because they allude to the fact? I could scream!
Are There Any Free Websites That You Can See What Your Baby Will Look Like?
I know you will never know what you’re baby will actually look like until you actually give birth. It’s more for fun. Thanks!
What Do You Feed Your Baby At Each Meal In A Normal Day? My Daugher Is Almost 11 Months Old…?
and I am running out of foods to think of lol. I know she can pretty much eat anything we do but we don’t have set meal times at home or really even eat healthy so I’d like to at least have one for her. She prefers food she can eat herself, of course. I give her mini raviolis and other pasta with a fork which she loves, wheat bread with sugar free jam/jelly cut into little squares, stuff like that. I see very different opinions on scrambled eggs…can anyone clear that up for me?
If possible, can you name like 2 or 3 different things you feed your baby for each meal? Thanks in advance!
How Do You Make Your Baby Food? ?
I always thought it was simple: steam, puree, add water/formula/breast milk. But I keep reading all these recipes and stuff online. How do you make your baby food? MY daughter is going to 2nd foods but has a sensitive tummy so I’m looking for really simple ideas, not a whole lot of stuff mixed together yet. I also don’t have a lot of free time but I do like the idea of making her food. We also don’t eat the healthiest or always have time to cook dinner, so simplity grindng up whatever mommy and daddy eat isn’t really an option. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. thanks!
Would You Rather Have Your Baby Be Happy Or Healthy?
My 4 month old baby is allergic to a ton of stuff. The doctors can’t figure it all out. He is currently breastfed and always moody, fussy, and cries all the time. He is terrible ezcema.
I’ve spent a great deal of time omitting all kinds of different foods from my diet for the last month (eggs, milk products, soy, chocolate, wheat, etc). He is still fussy and unhappy with bad ezcema.
The allergy doctor wanted us to try the baby on Neocate formula for one week. My son is doing SO much better. His ezcema is clearning up and he cries way less. He is fun to be around now..whereas he wasn’t before. (I’ve been pumping like crazy to make sure I keep my milk).
So my question is would you rather put your baby on formula to make him happy and free of ezcema and fun to be around?
Or keep him on breastmilk where he will continue to get my immunities and all the other goodies?
When Was The First Time You Put Your Child To Bed Without A Diaper?
my daughter is 20 months old and she is doing a great job with the potty training, in the morning i put her on the potty and she is diaper free for the rest of the day, well today was the first time i put her down for a nap without a diaper, although in the past she has woke up from her naps with a dry diaper. she goes all day with out any accidents and tells me when she has to use the potty. im so excited because the potty training has gone so smooth and she has the hang of it. so now im wondering when i can put her to bed or even take her out during the day without a diaper? in the morning she does have a wet diaper so im not going to push her, i just want to get opinions on when other parents sent their children to bed with just undies on and how did it go. also when was the first time you took your child out in public without the diaper, did you bring an extra pair of pants or undies with, did your child tell you they had to use the potty, how did your experience go?

Baby Shower Dilemma…would Anyone Else Be Offened If Your Mother In Law Did This?
I just can’t get this outta the back of my mind!!! My baby shower was in May and my mother in law didn’t get me a gift for the baby. Now, I’m not one who’s out to get stuff for free, this isn’t about money, but to me it’s about the moral of the whole idea. A couple of days after my baby shower(which was at my mother in law’s home, which by the way her contribution was having the shower in her home, she didn’t even clean up before hand, and she made macaroni salad…and my mother paid for EVERYTHING else) my inlaw complained to me that she was running low on cash since the shower…now months before the inlaws told me they’d get me a swing for the baby…the next day my mother in law told me she’d buy the swing and then mentioned again days later how low on cash she was running. so i told my husband to tell her not to buy the swing until she had the extra money…’cause the last thing I’d want to do was put them out of cash to buy daily necessities. So he told his mom….THEN…within the next week my sister in law (also, prego…due 6 weeks after me…I was june and she was july) finds the “crib” of her dreams….and yep mommy went and bought it for her…needless to say I bought my own swing and they bought nothing. I found out later on that my father in law gave my mother in law the $$$ in the beginning of may for the swing and it was never bought!!! Also, just in conversation my mother in law mentioned that she had had a blanket knitted for my step son when he was born and this and that(8yrs ago)…plus his bday feel a weeks before my child was born and she spent money right in front of me buying him quite a few gifts for his birthday!!! I have a pretty descend job and my inlaws know i make descend money…so I’m not sure if that’s the reason or not that she won’t buy my son anything!!! My feeling are so hurt by this. I know that my mother in law loves my son, so why’d she do this….and it’ been mentioned that they ( the inlaws) know they still haven’t bought the baby anything…i don’t think it’s a cash issue ’cause my father in law just bought a $4000 toy!!! I couldn’t stand it and I told my mother in law my feelings very nicely(don’t know if I should have) and she responded with “well…your just sooo hard to please, I didn’t think you’d like anything I got for you”…she had no basis to go off of with that remark…idk…but I just can’t get her frugalness outta my head everytime I see her!!!
