There Are Four Different Compounds With The Formula C7h16…?
There are four different compounds with the formula C7H16, each of which can form only three different monochlorides as a result of free radical halogenation. (Ignore stereochemistry.) The choices are….
3-ethylpentane
3,3-dimethylpentane
2,3-dimethylpentane
2,4-dimethylpentane
2,2-dimethylpentane
3,4-dimethylpentane
2-ethylpentane
2,3,3-dimethylbutane
2,2,3-trimethylbutane
I picked 4 and was wrong. Really need this one right too. If you could supply and explaination that would be great. Thank You!
