When Was The First Time You Put Your Child To Bed Without A Diaper?
my daughter is 20 months old and she is doing a great job with the potty training, in the morning i put her on the potty and she is diaper free for the rest of the day, well today was the first time i put her down for a nap without a diaper, although in the past she has woke up from her naps with a dry diaper. she goes all day with out any accidents and tells me when she has to use the potty. im so excited because the potty training has gone so smooth and she has the hang of it. so now im wondering when i can put her to bed or even take her out during the day without a diaper? in the morning she does have a wet diaper so im not going to push her, i just want to get opinions on when other parents sent their children to bed with just undies on and how did it go. also when was the first time you took your child out in public without the diaper, did you bring an extra pair of pants or undies with, did your child tell you they had to use the potty, how did your experience go?

i would recommend trying pullups going to bed
my oldest son was almost 3.
my oldest daughter was about 25 months.
my youngest daughter hasn’t wore a diaper since 17 months.
if you think it is time to retire the diapers just make sure you dont give her any drinks after a certain time (with my kids it is 7pm, bedtime is around
My daughter is 2, and she still has a diaper through the day & night. We’ve started the potty-training but she hasnt taken to it yet.
I think you should put pull-ups on her for night-time. as its a lot longer than a nap.. and go from there.
my youngest Daughter was 18 months old i went to put a diaper on her and she said no mommy i wont pee the bed so i didn’t put one on her and she peed the bed once and never after that. it really depends on your Daughter
My son turned 2 in May that is when I went full force on the whole potty thing. After about 4mths of napping with out diapers or pulls up I went cold turkey to big boy underwear at night as well.
I make sure he goes to the potty before he goes to bed, and before I go to bed I put him back on it. So far so good. We have had a few accidents but it is to be expected.
As for going out in public it was about a month after and I packed 3 changes of clothes LOL never needed them.
My son was potty trained right at 3 yrs and has never had an accident (hope I didn’t just jinx us!), but my daughter is 6 and a half and still needs a pullup at night…she sleeps deeply and doesn’t wake up when the urge comes. She is wet every morning…still. Every child is different. I would imagine that taking her out during the day in undies is fine, provided she tells you when she needs to go. If you’re out, you may need to ask pretty often, in case she gets distracted by the surroundings and forgets. 20 months is really young to be completely trained, in my experience. Does she do both #1 and #2 reliably on the potty? Best of luck to you–how awesome to be able to stop buying diapers!! FREEDOM!
With my son, I started potty training him at 26 months, he told me when he had to go, didn’t wet himself in the first two days and after that he went without a diaper at night. The first day I was potty training him we went in public without a diaper and I always brought extra clothing. He was extrememly easy to potty train and I was amazed because they say boys are harder to train than girls. He never wet himself when we were out or during the day, he only wet himself at night a few times.
